Dunedin Orange Festival Rebranding

The Dunedin Orange Festival takes place every July in Dunedin, Florida. It exists because local merchants, the historical museum, and the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce got together to plan the first annual Dunedin Orange Festival in July of 2010 to help businesses in the summer and celebrate Dunedin's Heritage with oranges.

In this project, the brief was to research and find a festival that that I believed had an unsuccessful visual identity, and could use some rebranding. I created a new logo, billboard, shirts, an animation, and a sticker sheet as some touch points to reflect some new possible branding.

Initial Festival Branding

At first glance at the festival's website, and the current visual identity, everything seems very outdated. Their logo has an odd gradient and just seems out of place. Their use of an image of an orange could be a lot more simplified for something we usually see today.

Their website in general just visually looks very odd with it’s large blue margins, and how the type is laid out on the page. Mainly though the current visual identity seems unsuccesful to me because this website reminds me of a scam website, this could turn people away almost immediately instead of attracting more people to the festival.

Other than their website there really isn’t a lot of branding for their website, so there is a lot of opportunity to grow with any rebranding and touch points.
